Takeaway Student Ambassadors
In order for Takeaway Conference to run like the well-oiled machine it is, we need highly competent, initiative-taking humans to help keep the machine moving along.
It’s not uncommon to see speakers on our stage who once started out as Student Ambassadors - so much so that we lovingly call it the Takeaway Circle of Life.
Often, people first join us as Student Ambassadors to gain experience, meet subject-matter-experts and learn from their experiences through our professional development offerings. Once graduated, they’ll start attending our PD events as industry professionals, and eventually, we’ll see those familiar names pop up in the call for speakers inbox and it’s their turn to give back to the community in the same way the community gave back to them. It’s one of the things we’re most proud of. 😊

At the Takeaway Conference, you'll get to meet and network with some industry folks while learning some new skills. Last year's ambassadors helped us host the whole event and got a lot of face time with the community.
Student ambassadors are responsible for welcoming speakers in the virtual green room, helping troubleshoot tech concerns, introducing speakers during the live event, and facilitating Q&As after the sessions.
It’s a big job with a lot of responsibility and it’s a great opportunity to show folks who you are and what you’re made of.

Submission deadline: February 21, 2022
After submitting your expression of interest & resume, we will review the submissions and will connect with each of you about next steps, which may include a brief 30-minute video call and a 1-hour orientation.
There are a limited number of volunteer opportunities available for the Takeaway Conference and all volunteer opportunities are available exclusively to full-time post-secondary students.
We will review and respond to all submissions by Friday, February 25th.
If you are selected to be a Takeaway Student Ambassador, you will be required to attend one 1-hour orientation on March 7th from 6PM to 7PM or March 8th from 6PM to 7PM.

You get to participate in the full event on the house! That means you’ll have a chance to attend sessions, network with industry, and get all the goodies that come with being an attendee!
You will have responsibilities during your shift, but there are also a lot of opportunities to learn and network.
We’ve had many Student Ambassadors sign up to participate year after year, so we consider that the vote of confidence that it’s something you’ll find a lot of value in!
